GENERAL INFORMATION

What is the Digital Dental Assistant Academy?

The Digital Dental Assistant Academy is an online continuing education platform designed to train dental professionals in cutting-edge digital dentistry and 3D printing workflows. Our courses teach you how to confidently operate dental printers, design restorations, and implement digital workflows in your practice or lab.

Why was DDAA created?

Many practices invest heavily in digital equipment but provide little structured training for assistants. This leads to retakes, print failures, inefficiency, and frustration. DDAA was created to close that implementation gap by providing structured, assistant-focused digital workflow training.

Is DDAA affiliated with a specific manufacturer?

No. DDAA is platform-neutral. While we may reference commonly used systems, our training focuses on workflow principles that apply across brands and technologies.

Is DDAA only for highly digital practices?

No. DDAA supports practices at every stage — from those just adopting scanning to fully digital offices looking to standardize and refine workflows.

Who is DDAA for?

DDAA is built primarily for dental assistants who want to grow their digital skill set and become indispensable inside their practice. It also supports dentists, office managers, DSOs, schools, and manufacturers who want structured digital workflow training for teams.

Do I need prior digital experience?

No. Our curriculum is structured in progressive levels. Beginners learn foundational skills. More experienced assistants refine execution and workflow consistency.

How much time do I need each week?

Courses are designed in short, focused modules. Most assistants can make meaningful progress in 1–2 hours per week.

How quickly can I apply what I learn?

Immediately. Our courses are built around practical implementation so concepts can be applied in the operatory the same week.

FOR PRACTICE OWNERS

What problem does DDAA solve?

DDAA solves the digital implementation gap. Many practices purchase technology but lack a workflow structure.

We train assistants to execute consistent digital protocols, reducing inefficiency and increasing predictability.

How does DDAA improve ROI?

When assistants master scanning, printing, and finishing workflows:

  • Retakes decrease
  • Remakes decrease
  • Production increases
  • Chair time becomes more efficient
  • Equipment utilization improves

ROI improves when digital systems are used correctly and consistently.

How is this different from manufacturer training?

Manufacturer training focuses on product features and setup.
DDAA focuses on workflow integration. How scanning, design, printing, finishing, and communication work together inside your practice.

Can this help reduce staff turnover?

Structured training increases confidence and professional growth, which often improves engagement and retention.

Can DDAA support DSOs?

Yes. DDAA can support standardized training across multiple locations with scalable membership options and optional implementation training.

VIRTUAL & HANDS-ON TRAINING

Do you offer in-office training?

Yes. DDAA offers in-office training tailored to your equipment, team skill level, and workflow goals.

Do you offer virtual training?

Yes. Virtual training includes live workflow walkthroughs, troubleshooting, Q&A, and implementation support.

What does a typical training session include?
