Meet the Lead Instructor: Chelsea Homire
With over 14 years as an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA), Chelsea has built a career defined by growth, reinvention, and digital innovation. After nearly leaving dentistry, she discovered 3D printing—and it completely changed her trajectory. She quickly transitioned into a role as an in-house Digital Fabrication Specialist, where she found deeper career fulfillment, greater income, and a renewed passion for dental technology.
Today, Chelsea is a recognized leader and educator in digital dentistry. She is the co-founder of the Digital Dental Assistant Academy (DDAA) and the St. Louis 3D Printing Study Club, as well as a SprintRay and Straumann Key Educator (K.E.). She also hosts a popular YouTube channel designed for 3D printing newbies, making complex workflows simple and approachable for assistants entering the digital space.
Her expertise has been featured by top organizations including the Institute of Digital Dentistry, Blue Sky Bio University, and IgniteDA. In 2024, she was honored as a panelist for Patterson St. Louis Women in Dentistry, highlighting her influence as both a clinician and a mentor.
As lead instructor at DDAA, Chelsea combines real-world experience with a passion for teaching, empowering dental assistants to embrace digital tools like 3D printing, intraoral scanning, and digital design. Her mission is clear: to elevate the role of assistants in modern dentistry—and to make sure they’re trained, valued, and ready for the future.
